There are all sorts of cons that are always discussed about unemployment. Yes, unemployment can be an unfortunate thing that occurs in life. But is unemployment all bad, or could there actually be some not so bad in it? Could there be some pros to or of unemployment that are always ignored or unappreciated? This post is about the pros in something that is unfortunate in life.

This post is about the pros of unemployment.

1st Pro: More Sleep

The first pro of not having to work, or being unemployed is that you have the opportunity to get more sleep. Because you don’t have a job, or work, you have no schedule so you don’t have a specific time that you have to wake up. You can sleep as long as you want. You have the opportunity to sleep all the way until the afternoon and sleep for several more hours than you normally would.

Because you don’t have a job, work, you can fall asleep at anytime of the day, there have been many times that I would fall asleep at unusual times. I could be doing absolutely anything and fall asleep. I could be writing and fall asleep. I could be watching a video and fall asleep. I could be doing absolutely nothing at all and fall asleep.

I have taken more naps because I don’t work and I’m unemployed. Sometimes I feel like napping is my job. Sometimes I nap and sleep so much that it gets on my nerves and I get stressed. Because I don’t work, and I’m unemployed, I realize that there’s nothing wrong with taking a nap and there’s nothing wrong with sleeping.

2nd Pro: Design your schedule and do what you want

The second pro of not having to work, or being unemployed, is the opportunity to design your schedule and do what you want throughout the day.

If you want to sleep late, you can sleep late. If you want to wake up early, you can wake up early. If you want to stay up late, at night, you can stay up late at night. If you want to go to sleep early, you can go to sleep early.

If you want to work on job applications in the morning, you can work on job applications in the morning. If you want to work on job applications in the afternoon, you can work on job applications in the afternoon.

Because you don’t work, you’re unemployed, you have the opportunity to do what you want at the specific time that you want. If you want to accomplish a specific thing today, you can accomplish it today, but maybe you want to accomplish it later in the week. Your unemployed hours are yours to design.

3rd pro: What are your interests

The third pro of not having to work, or being unemployed, is the opportunity to get to know what your interests are.

Your interests are things in life that intrigue you. Your interests are the things in life that get your attention. Your interests are the things in life that you tend to focus on.

Your interest in life might be blogging. Your interest in life might be to create content online. Your interest in life might be selling products.

There are so many interests and possibilities of interests that you can choose from in life, but sometimes if you’re too busy you might not be able to get to what your interests are. Unemployment provides you with the perfect opportunity to figuring out what is that tasks or those tasks in life that spark something inside of you.

4th pro: Unemployment can be work

The fourth pro of not having work, or unemployment, is that you realize how much work being unemployed is.

What do I mean by “Unemployment can be work,” I mean that it can require a lot of effort, a lot of time and a lot of focus. Because you’re unemployed, you know that you’re unemployed, though I write of the pros of unemployment, there are individuals who are unemployed who don’t want to stay in unemployment. If you’re trying to get out of a state of unemployment, you’re learning about different work fields, different jobs and the qualifications that’s required to get employed.

Because you’re unemployed, you don’t want to stay unemployed, you’re signing up for and filling out multiple job applications. Because you’re unemployed, you don’t want to stay unemployed, you’re doing multiple job interviews. Because you’re unemployed, you don’t want to stay unemployed, you’re dealing with the tiredness, the frustration that can come along with not receiving a word back from companies, businesses that you’ve applied to work for.

What I’m trying to write in so many words is that unemployment is a job in itself. Though unemployment can seem like you’re doing nothing, as if you’re lazy, it can be a whole lot of work and effort. Because unemployment can be a lot of work, effort, you can get prepared for what having an actual job is like and that can actually help you in the long run.

5th pro: Lessons you learn from unemployment rejection

The fifth pro of not having work, or unemployment, is that you have to deal with rejection. What is rejection in unemployment? Rejection in unemployment is applying for a job and not getting it. Rejection in unemployment is doing a job interview and then being told that you did not get the job.

Rejection never feels good. Rejection hurts, but you learn that not only is rejection apart of life, but rejection might also be apart of unemployment life.

There are a couple of benefits that you can get from dealing with rejections, one benefit is that you can become stronger. Rejection also gives you opportunities to learn. Rejection sometimes saves you from the wrong thing, or in this case, rejection might save you from the wrong job.

6th pro: The opportunity to be unemployed

The sixth pro of not having work, or unemployment, is the opportunity to be unemployed. Why is being unemployed a good thing? Being unemployed is a good thing because if you think about it, there are a lot of individuals who work and are employed.

From the moment we are allowed to attend school, we get enrolled into school, we attend school up until we get our diplomas. Once you get your diploma, you head to college, you might have a part time job until you get your degree. Once you get your degree, you get a full time job or you might continue to get your education working towards the job that you’ve always wanted. What I’m trying to write is that for the most part, most individuals are always trying to get employed or are trying to get a job. What I’m trying to write is that there are a lot of individuals that whether they were getting paid or not, they have been working for a long time.

What I’m also trying to write is that unemployment is not very ideal. It’s not usual for someone to be unemployed to enjoy unemployment. It’s not usual for someone to be unemployed to see it as a pro. It’s not usual for someone to be unemployed and see the benefits of it.

No one strives to be unemployed, but maybe you can see in the moments where you have nothing occurring in your work life, that you are one of the individuals who have nothing occurring in your work life.

7th pro: No money problems

The seventh pro of not having work, or unemployment, is that you have no money problems. Why do you have no money problems? You have no money problems because you have no money.

Because you’re not working, you’re not receiving a pay check and you’re not receiving money. Because you’re unemployed, you have no money that you have to struggle to budget. Because you’re unemployed, you have no money that you have to struggle to stretch, in order, to pay all of your bills.

Because you are unemployed, and you aren’t making money, you don’t have to deal with the struggle of saving money. Because you are unemployed, you don’t have any money that someone can ask you to borrow and not pay back.

In conclusion…

Unemployment isn’t all bad. Unemployment isn’t all unfortunate. Unemployment isn’t all full of cons. Unemployment has it’s pros.

In any unfortunate thing that occurs in life, there might be a pro thing. This post discussed 8 of those things. If you’re unemployed, you can get more sleep, apply to your interests and be an employee of unemployment.
